SO! RBR says hey didnt use KERs in the race, and in fact had the system taken off the cars. Then explain this RBR...why is it that Mark's tyre wear was worse than Seb's? Also, if both cars had they're KERs systems removed, why did Mark stop right after the checkered with his front brakes (where the KERs is supposed to be) smoking? Here's my theory... Horner says that they did not need to run KERs to be competitive. All compliments to the team and designers for being cream of the crop...RBR dont need electrics to win! BUT, I think that RBR wasnt so sure of this before they went into the race...I reckon they took off KERs from Seb's car, but left it on Mark's. This was the final race spec test...to see how competitive the car was/nt re KERs. Clearly, by taking it off Seb he had a lighter car, therefore 1) could take it easier and fly in the corners, and 2) the tyres didnt wear under the extra weight. By leaving it on Mark's car they could evaluate the difference in weight, performance (ir in terms of tyre wear), and longevity (of KERs)...I think the reason Mark's front KER's brakes were smking and he had to stop was because they (without knowing the ins and outs of F1 mech) were maintained at maximum charge for the entire race, which the system was probably not designed to be...or something else...? These are just my theorisings with no actual facts to indicate bar this...why haven't RBR or Mark explained why Mark stopped after the flag and walked back...? This, to me looks like another "Not bad for a number 2 driver" moment...and rightly so. Being Aussie, my full support lies with Web's and if he used the old "Fuck you and come get it yourself" then thats fine by me...I would to if I was the championship contender being used as a guinea pig! Go for Webber in Malaysia! |
